What is Chiropractic? Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the body. Concentrating particularly on the spine, a chiropractor will use their hands to make often gentle, specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) to restore normal function. People of all ages and from all walks of life can benefit from chiropractic treatment, from babies and children, through adulthood and into later years and including pregnant women. Who will I be treated by? Amy Mawson will be providing your Chiropractic Care. Amy graduated from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in 2004 after 5 years full time education with a B.Sc. and a Masters in Chiropractic. Since then she has worked in Warwickshire for two and half years before relocating back to Hertfordshire and working in Hertford. How do I book an appointment? Appointments at our clinics can be booked in person at the reception desk or by phone 01494 862325. When and where are the clinics? Clinics are held at The Practice Prospect House every Tuesday and Friday morning from 8.30am - 12noon. If you are unsure whether we can help you, or have any questions you would like us to address, please call to book in for a pre consultation appointment with the chiropractor. This service is free of charge and carries no obligation. How much will my treatment cost? Patients see chiropractors in a private capacity either through self referral or as a result of a referral from their GP or other health care professional. Chiropractic treatment is not available on the NHS and will remain a private service offered by Amy Mawson here at The Practice Prospect House. Please ask at reception for prices. Which private health insurers cover chiropractic? Chiropractic is covered by all major private health insurers including Axa/PPP, WPA, Standard Life, Cigna, Norwich Union, Groupma, Medisure, Clinicare, Pru Health, First Assist, Remedi, OHRA, QBE Health, CS Healthcare, BCWA, Royal & Sun Alliance.
