About The Practice

Appointments

All surgeries are by appointment and these can be made in person or by telephone during surgery hours. We offer a range of appointments including some in the early morning, early evening and on Saturday morning. Appointments are for 10 minutes.

Telephone Advice

The doctors have set aside time to advise and deal with any enquiries over the telephone. We will ask you to leave your contact number and enquiry in order for the doctor to call you back during the surgery hours. A triage system is in place and you may be asked to speak to the Practice Nurse first.

Home Visits

Home visits are for patients who are too frail, severely disabled or confined to bed, and are unable to attend the surgery. To request a home visit on the same day, please call the surgery before 10.30am. The doctor will decide if a visit is necessary.

Out of surgery hours

NHS Direct is a national 24-hour advice help line for all medical problems. Simply call 0845 4647. If you have an urgent medical problem between 6.30pm and 8.00am Monday to Friday or at any time during weekends, please call Harmoni on 0845 450 2530.

Repeat Prescriptions

To request repeat medicine, tick the repeat slip as appropriate and drop it into the surgery, or you can post this slip with a self addressed envelope. The prescription will be ready in 48hrs or 2 working days. From time to time we require you to see the doctor or the nurse for a medication review before a repeat can be issued. This is to ensure that you get the medications that are most appropriate. To check for your medication review date please refer to the repeat slip. Please do not telephone for repeat prescriptions.

Disabled Access

There is disabled access at the surgery via the main entrance at the side of the building.

Parking

Parking is available for patients at the rear of the Surgery, access is between the surgery and Wrights Funeral Directors. We share access with the Funeral Directors, and ask you to park considerately to ensure vehicles can get in and out of the car park at all times.

The Practice Prospect House Equipment Fund

This fund was established by some of our patients to purchase equipment for patient care that would not otherwise be available. We are extremely grateful for the donations received. Details are on the waiting room notice board.
