Below are our Clinical Leads who are committed to ensuring clinical excellence from our teams. Members of each surgery and services team can be found listed within the appropriate section of the website.

SURGERIES

Dr Ajit Kadirgamar BSc MBBS
Head of Training and Development

Dr Kadirgamar qualified from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1988 and completed his training in General Practice in 1993. His areas of special interest are child health, cardiology, dermatology and GP training and mentoring.

As Clinical Lead for The Practice surgeries division Ajit is responsible for developing clinical strategy and the clinical workforce. He divides his time between this role and The Practice Prospect House in Great Missenden where he is both senior GP and GP trainer.

 

OPHTHALMOLOGY

Mr Nick Jacobs MB ChB FRCOphth
Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology

Mr Jacobs is Clinical Lead for ophthalmology. He is a highly experienced ophthalmic surgeon having specialized in high volume cataract surgery. In addition to cataracts he majors in the management of glaucoma his experience in this area is invaluable in ensuring our compliance to the 2009 NICE glaucoma guidelines. Mr Jacobs has designed instruments and new techniques for cataract and glaucoma surgery as well as local anesthesia and he has published many papers on these subjects.

 

DERMATOLOGY

Dr Mohammed Al Abadie
Clinical Lead for Dermatology

Dr Al Abadie has worked in Dermatology since 1989, obtaining his PhD in Dermatology from Sheffield University, DSBD Diploma in Dermatology University of Wales, working as a Consultant Dermatologist since 1997. He is an accredited Dermatologist on the GMC specialist list. Dr Al Abadie is a national and international speaker, teach medical students from Birmingham University, external examiner for the MD degree, publishing a numerous specialist papers in peer review journals in Dermatology. He is highly experienced in designing and delivering community Dermatology services.

 

SECURE HEALTH

Dr. Horst-Dieter Haas, MAeN, MBDA, GPwSI substance misuse RCGP
Clinical Lead for Secure Health

Dr. Haas qualified in 1984 in Hannover and brings to The Practice over 25 years of experience as a GP. He has been working in substance misuse since March 1992 and is highly experienced in this demanding and difficult area of medicine. His enthusiasm and wide field of expertise makes him an ideal Clinical Lead in this important health care environment.

Dr. Haas is married with 4 grown up children, is a keen jogger and loves sailing.
 

EAR NOSE & THROAT

Simon Lloyd MBBS BScHons MPhil FRCSORL-NHS
Consultant Lead for Ear nose & throat

Simon Lloyd studied Medicine and trained in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery at several major teaching hospitals in London including the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital and undertook super-specialist training in surgery of the ear at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge as well as the United States and Denmark. He also has a Master of Philosophy in Neurosciences from St. Edmund's College, Cambridge that focused on the care of patients with acoustic neuromas. His main clinical interests are diseases of the ear and skull base.

Mr Lloyd has published over twenty five papers in the medical literature in his areas of expertise as well as authoring a number of book chapters. He regularly lectures in his field both nationally and internationally and also has an interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

He currently holds an NHS post as Consultant Otolaryngologist and Skull Base Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Salford Royal Hospital where he is part of the Manchester Skull Base Unit and the Manchester Auditory Implant Programme.

 

Dr Riccardo Di Cuffa MBBS MRCSEd DOHNS
Clinical Lead for Ear nose & throat

The Practice Ear, Nose & Throat service is led by Dr Riccardo Di Cuffa. Dr Di Cuffa studied medicine at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Graduating in 1999 he pursued an Ear, Nose and Throat ENT specialism, training at University College Hospital and the Royal National ENT hospital where he gained his MRCS and DOHNS-diploma of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck surgery. Dr DiCuffa has been involved with developing The Practice Ear, Nose & Throat service whilst maintaining his role as clinical Lead for one of our surgeries.
